City Garden
The fact that it was given the name of garden, rather then square or park would seem to suggest that the trees growing today - maples, pines and chestnut trees are later planting and that the original trees bore fruit.
There is one exception though, a massive and very old poplar, a survivor form the original garden. This clearly shows that the garden was not originally designed as traditional orchard. It is likely that the garden was given its name by way of analogy with the Garden of Eden
The bronze sculpture of the Gambs' 12th chair from a well known novel by Illia Ilf and Evgeniy Petrov is standing on one of its alleys. Another bronze monument to the "king of Soviet Jazz", Leonid Utesov, presents a bench on which a smiling and leaning back man sits.
